Living apart from both our families, J and I love it when our relatives come down for a visit. This past weekend, his Grandma and Aunt S spent the weekend in New York and J and I hopped on the train to spend Saturday with them.
Now I've always thought J's grandma was cool. From the very beginning, she has always made me feel welcomed. And much like my own mother, she won't let being in her eighties slow her down. Instead and much to my delight, she insisted that J and I show her as much of New York as possible.
I can't believe how much we did! We even managed to fit in a window walk by Bergdorf Goodman which always has beautiful window displays. This is a sneak peak of one of the current windows:
I'll show you the rest in a couple weeks as this particular window had so many creepy elements - perfect for October.
In the meantime, I was impressed with how realistic the mannequins were at Saks 5th Avenue.
We lucked out when we came across a festival on Mulberry Street (Little Italy). Oh the cannolis! Yum!
And then it was back up to Grand Central.
Thank you, Grandma and Aunt S, for fitting us into your trip! It was great getting to know you, Aunt S. You are a hoot! Next time you both will have to stay longer. I'll send you pics soon.
