What a great weekend we just had! I think it was quite possibly the best weekend so far this year. One of the highlights was the encaustic art date that my friend, Moe, hosted in her backyard on Sunday. Meg, the sweet owner of The Dessert Plate joined us and brought a box of her lemon cookies and strawberry-rhubarb tarts. The three of us spent several hours painting with encaustics. I had such a great time, I didn't want to leave. And that had me thinking, Why haven't I done this more often?
I think each of us knows how to do something well enough, whether it's painting, photography, knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, a certain sport, etc. that we could teach to someone else. The conversations, the laughter, the good food and drinks shared with friends while we teach and learn something together is good for the soul, don't you think? I've decided that I need and want more art dates like this in my life.
